My paintings begin as studies of objects of intrigue - an acorn, a squirrel, fruits, flowers, pins or rosary beads. Put together, they become a surreal still life and a story unfolds. Sometimes the story initiates the painting, more often the story develops from the subjects as I paint. Often it tells of the past, but the magic happens when it tells of the future.
